Our ‘Guatemalan Gold‘ single origin light roast Guatemalan coffee is a well balanced rich bodied coffee with light citrus acidity and chocolatey blackberry notes.
The panoramic views from the top of Mt. Soledad are the best in San Diego and the inspiration for this coffee.
Our two Northern Huehuetenango microdots are grown in Union Cantinil at an elevation of approximately 1500-1900 meters above sea level (MASL). Cantonal is a word for venomous snake, a description of the mountain ridges in this area. Because of its distinction as a selection of 2% from a pool of lots, selected from 30,000 bags, essentially 4.5 million pounds of coffee, it has been referred to as ’Guatemala Gold’ for its standout unique characteristics. These specific micrldots are produced by many indigenous families that have dedicated their whole life to the production of coffee.
