In the beautiful southern slopes of the fruitful soils of Mount Kilimanjaro you will find the RooVillage, very near to the Hai District.

This region is famous for its unique coffee characteristics. The coffee farmers established the group in the 1960’s and today it counts a total of 250 active members.

They are typical small-holder farmers with plots of 0.5 to 2 acres in size. These coffee gardens are not only used for coffee farming but also for producing other crops such as bananas, avocados and ground nuts. They use them for their own in-house consumption while the excess is sold at the local markets, giving farmers an alternative income to the sale of coffee and diversifying their cashflows.

In addition the farmers have organized themselves in order to process all coffees centrally, using a pulping machine which helps to keep quality consistent. These are only some examples of the knowledge the farmers have received through intensive training conducted by a non-governmental organization (Technoserve) and Kilicafe.

We ship USPS priority mail. We offer free shipping on orders over $40. 

We ship Monday - Friday. Orders placed after 1pm on Fridays will ship on Monday.
