Colombia is the second-largest coffee producer in the world and the largest producer of washed Arabica. Renowned for its high-quality coffee, the country exports around 12.5 million bags annually, with about half going to the United States. Domestically, Colombians consume about 2 million bags each year.

This coffee features Excelso beans, known for their large size. Excelso beans are sized at screens 15-16 and make up the majority of Colombia’s exports, while Supremo beans are even larger. Both can come from the same tree, as they are sorted by size after processing.

Medellín, often called the “City of Eternal Spring,” is Colombia’s second-largest city and the capital of Antioquia, a department that holds the distinction of being the birthplace of Colombian coffee.

Antioquia remains the country’s largest coffee-growing region, producing beans with a medium body and smooth, well-balanced cup profiles. Unlike coffees from other regions, Antioquia’s offerings are less fruity or winey, making them an easy choice for any time of day.

The European Preparation (EP) specification ensures these beans were meticulously hand-sorted to remove defects or foreign materials, guaranteeing their exceptional quality.
